Space Debris Conference continues with broad international participation from 50+ countries

Riyadh, February 12, 2024, The Space Debris Conference enters its second day with robust international participation from over 50 countries. Today's agenda includes four panel discussions and four keynote speeches focusing on innovative solutions to mitigate the repercussions of space debris. Experts in the field are set to present forward-looking ideas aimed at eliminating risks and safeguarding the planet.

This pioneering conference, spearheaded by Saudi Arabia, underscores the Kingdom's commitment to fostering global awareness regarding the challenges and dangers associated with space debris. By facilitating discussions and proposing solutions, Saudi Arabia aims to pave the way for a secure and prosperous future in space exploration.

The event serves as a testament to the Kingdom's dedication to embracing and endorsing policies that ensure the sustainability of the space sector while safeguarding its future economy. Organized by the Saudi Space Agency in collaboration with the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST), and in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the conference concludes its activities today, marking a significant milestone in international cooperation toward addressing space debris challenges.
