March 25, 2025, VALENCIA, Spain: Spain advanced to the Nations League semifinals with a 5-4 penalty shootout win over the Netherlands after a dramatic 3-3 draw in the second leg (5-5 on aggregate).


Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring for Spain, followed by a Memphis Depay penalty for the Netherlands. Oyarzabal then scored again, but Ian Maatsen equalized for the Dutch, sending the match into extra-time.


Yamal put Spain ahead again with a brilliant goal, but Xavi Simons responded with another penalty for the Netherlands, leveling the score.


In the penalty shootout, Donyell Malen missed, and Pedri converted the decisive penalty, sending Spain to the semifinals.
