Spanish Super Cup set for Kingdom, January 10-14, 2024

Riyadh, October 25, 2023, The Ministry of Sports has announced that the Spanish Super Cup is scheduled to take place in the Kingdom from January 10 to 14, 2024. This prestigious tournament will feature top football clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Osasuna.


The knockout stage of the competition will be hosted at Riyadh's Awal Park stadium. The tournament will commence with a match between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid on January 10, followed by defending champions Barcelona facing Osasuna on January 11. The culminating clash between the winners will occur on January 14.


This marks the fourth consecutive occasion that the Kingdom hosts the finals of the Spanish Super Cup. The tournament first came to Saudi Arabia in 2020, with Real Madrid emerging as the champions in Jeddah. Subsequently, in 2022, Real Madrid clinched the title once more in Riyadh. In early 2023, Barcelona secured the trophy.


Real Madrid, the Copa del Rey champions, and Barcelona, the Spanish League champions, are joined by Osasuna, the cup runner-up, in the competition. Atlético Madrid, finishing third in the 2022-2023 La Liga season, completes the lineup of eligible teams.


The upcoming edition of the tournament will be broadcast on "Movistar" and other international media platforms, ensuring global coverage. The participation of renowned athletes representing the competing teams underscores the significance of this football event and its vast global following.
