
RIYADH, March 30, 2025 — The Saudi Pro League (SPL) announced on Wednesday its acceptance of Saad Al Lazeez’s resignation from his position as Vice Chairman and General Supervisor of the Player Acquisition Centre of Excellence (PACE) program. His tenure was marked by significant contributions to the program’s establishment, governance, operational models, and implementation procedures.
The SPL expressed its appreciation for Al Lazeez’s contributions and extended its best wishes for his future endeavors.
The league confirmed that the PACE program will proceed into its next phase under the governance and regulations set by the SPL Board of Directors, with CEO Omar Mughrbel overseeing its operations.
The SPL remains committed to ensuring the program’s continuity, improving its mechanisms, and enhancing its effectiveness in line with its strategic vision for the growth of Saudi professional football.
Al Lazeez, who joined the Saudi Pro League in late 2021, is expected to assume a senior role within the football division of Neom FC, a club reportedly on the verge of securing promotion to the Saudi Pro League, according to Asharq Al-Awsat sources.
