Riadh, November 07, 2023, The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has officially signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the 400 MW Tabarjal Solar PV project under Round 4 of the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP). This agreement involves a consortium led by Jinko Power (HK) Company Limited as Managing Member and Technical Member, with Sun Glare Holding Co. and Sunlight Energy Holding Co. as Consortium Members. The Tabarjal Solar PV project is anticipated to provide power to approximately 75,000 residential units annually and boasts a competitive Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) at 1.70795 USDc/kWh (equivalent to 6.40482 halalas/kWh).
The National Renewable Energy Program is overseen by the Ministry of Energy and aligns with Vision 2030's objectives, focusing on optimizing the energy mix and reducing the reliance on liquid fuels in the Kingdom's power sector. The program utilizes extensive land resources to harness renewable energy, with the aim of increasing the renewable energy share to approximately 50% by 2030.
