Cannes, France, December 08, 2023, The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) recently wrapped up its participation at the esteemed International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in Cannes, France, held from December 4-7, 2023, alongside the Saudi Tourism Authority. The global event served as a platform for SRSA to present an overview of its initiatives, projects, and plans dedicated to elevating luxury tourism experiences and ensuring a seamless journey for all stakeholders.
During the ILTM, SRSA seized the opportunity to inform participants about seven new regulations that came into effect in November 2023. These regulations, including the Visiting Private Yacht Regulation and Large Yacht Chartering Regulation, aim to enhance coastal tourism while prioritizing sustainability and safety. The Authority emphasized its commitment to fostering a favorable environment for investors and attracting investments to the Red Sea region.
One of the highlights of SRSA's presentation was the showcase of the Red Sea's abundant natural, environmental, and cultural resources. With an expansive 1,800 km coastline featuring over 1,000 islands and more than 500 dive sites, the region promises a diverse and immersive experience for luxury travelers.
Established by a Council of Ministers decision in November 2021, SRSA is tasked with facilitating and regulating coastal tourism activities in the Red Sea. This includes overseeing navigational activities like cruising and yachting, developing strategies to protect the marine environment in collaboration with relevant authorities, supporting investors (including SMEs), and actively marketing coastal tourism activities to attract practitioners.
In conclusion, SRSA's participation at ILTM not only provided valuable insights into its ongoing and upcoming projects but also showcased the immense potential of the Red Sea as a premier destination for luxury tourism, emphasizing the Authority's commitment to sustainability, safety, and investor-friendly policies.
