Riyadh, February 11, 2024, Today, the Saudi Space Agency (SSA) formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NorthStar, a leading global entity specializing in Earth observation data and analytics services. The primary objective of this agreement is to fortify collaboration, explore forthcoming opportunities, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge within the realm of space situational awareness.
The MoU, inked by Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, CEO of SSA, and Stewart Bain, CEO of NorthStar, was enacted on the sidelines of the Space Debris Conference hosted in Riyadh.
Within the framework of this pact, both entities pledge to synergize efforts in bolstering the Kingdom's space industry. This collaborative venture will entail the enhancement of research and development capabilities, with a particular emphasis on the establishment of a specialized center of excellence dedicated to space situational awareness.
