Start of the Fourth Funding Cycle by Red Sea Fund


The Red Sea Fund has announced the start of Post-Production Cycle 4, which offers funding to African and Arab filmmakers working on rough-cut feature-length documentaries or animation projects. The fund has supported filmmakers and industry-advancing projects since its creation in 2021. It has provided funding to films that are currently in the stages of development, production, and post-production.


Applications for Cycle 4 can be submitted using the provided website until August 21, 2024.

Financial assistance is available to directors of African and Arab heritage who are working on feature-length documentaries or animation projects that are in the rough-cut stage and require financing to complete. These programs must run for a minimum of sixty minutes.The Red Sea Fund, the driving force behind financing Arab and African film, grants money in four cycles to support films in development, production, and post-production.Since its establishment in 2021, the fund has helped over 250 filmmakers as well as several industry-promoting initiatives.
