Statement on Discovery of Citizen Hattan Shata's Body Issued by the Saudi Embassy in Egypt


- A Saudi citizen named Hattan bin Ghazi Shata has been reported missing in Cairo, Egypt.


- The Egyptian authorities have found a body thought to be Haṭṭān Šāta's, as confirmed by the Saudi embassy in Egypt.


- DNA testing was done to identify the body, and the results show that Hattan Shata is who the body is.


. No criminal elements have been found in his death.



Cairo, June 6, 2024. The Saudi embassy in Egypt released a statement today reporting the missing status of one of the Saudi citizens, Hattan bin Ghazi Shata, in Cairo. The embassy stated in its statement that Egyptian authorities had confirmed the recovery of a body believed to be the missing man's. According to the statement, a DNA sample was collected to verify the suspicion, and the results were consistent with that of citizen Hattan Shata. Furthermore, the results showed that there were no criminal components discovered in his death. Our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies go out to the family of the deceased. We pray that Allah may grant them the patience and comfort they need at this difficult time. In addition, it provided an expression of respect and appreciation to the Egyptian authorities for the exhaustive efforts they had made in discovering the facts of this tragedy.
