Hong Kong, September 07, 2023, As investors awaited an update on US inflation and China's most recent economic data, stock prices were generally higher in Asia on Monday, according to the Associated Press. Benchmarks decreased in Tokyo and Hong Kong while increasing in Shanghai, Sydney, and Seoul. The S&P 500 and Dow futures were trading higher. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 1.1% to 17,996.44, while the Shanghai Composite index increased by 0.8% to 3,142.64.
The Kospi in Seoul increased 0.3% to 2,553.44, while the Nikkei 225 in Tokyo fell 0.4% to 32,467.76.
S&P/ASX 200 Australia increased 0.4% to 7,185.80.
The benchmark price for international trade, Brent crude, dropped 17 cents to $90.48 per barrel.
From 146.99 Japanese yen, the US dollar dropped to 146.08 yen. The euro increased from $1.0714 to $1.0732.
