Study in Saudi Arabia': Platform to Facilitate Procedures for Accepting Non-Saudi Students to Study in Saudi Universities

The "Study in Saudi Arabia" platform offers a unified, multilingual service for international students to apply and track their applications electronically for Saudi universities, streamlining the process by integrating the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Hessouni highlighted the platform’s role in supporting non-Saudi graduates, including over 600 Kenyan students, and noted that Saudi Arabia allocates approximately 190 study seats annually for Kenyan students.


The platform reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to education and international collaboration, aiming to attract and support international students and enhance educational ties with countries like Kenya.


Nairobi, August 28, 2024 — The “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform exemplifies Saudi Arabia’s commitment to education and international collaboration by offering educational opportunities for learners worldwide. This initiative is designed to attract non-Saudi international students from various countries, encouraging them to pursue academic programs in Saudi universities across a range of disciplines.


Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Hessouni, the Director of the Educational Visa Program and supervisor of the “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform, provided insights into the platform's objectives during his address at the forum for non-Saudi graduates of higher education institutions, currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Al-Hessouni emphasized that the Ministry of Education is dedicated to increasing awareness of the platform, which serves as a unified national resource offering services in ten international languages.


The “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform streamlines the application process for international students, allowing them to submit their applications electronically and track their progress until they obtain their educational visa. This is facilitated through a seamless integration between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ensuring efficient handling of all procedural requirements.


Dr. Al-Hessouni highlighted that the forum aims to support non-Saudi graduates from Saudi universities, including over 600 Kenyan students who have completed their studies in the Kingdom. Additionally, he noted that Saudi Arabia allocates approximately 190 seats annually for students from Kenya to study at Saudi universities, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering educational exchange and cooperation.
