Sudan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia is Received by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs

Waleed El Khereiji, Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Dafallah Al-Haj Ali, Sudan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom, to discuss the ongoing crisis in Sudan and efforts to address its challenges.

Riyadh, December 30, 2024Waleed El Khereiji, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, received Dafallah Al-Haj Ali, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a formal meeting today in Riyadh. The discussion focused on the current political and humanitarian situation in Sudan, its implications for the region, and the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the challenges facing the country.


During the meeting, Vice Minister El Khereiji expressed Saudi Arabia’s deep concern for the situation in Sudan and reiterated the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Sudan's sovereignty and the well-being of its people. The two officials reviewed the latest developments in Sudan, particularly the escalating conflict and its toll on civilians, and discussed the urgent need for peace and stability in the region. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has consistently advocated for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and has played a key role in facilitating dialogue and humanitarian assistance.


Ambassador Dafallah Al-Haj Ali briefed Vice Minister El Khereiji on the Sudanese government’s efforts to engage various stakeholders and international partners in finding a solution to the crisis. He highlighted the critical importance of international cooperation in addressing the complex challenges facing Sudan, including humanitarian aid, reconciliation efforts, and the restoration of order within the country.

Vice Minister El Khereiji affirmed Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to support Sudan through humanitarian assistance and diplomatic channels. He emphasized the Kingdom’s readiness to collaborate with international organizations, such as the United Nations, and regional bodies, like the African Union, in bringing about a sustainable peace process. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to work together towards a peaceful, prosperous, and stable Sudan.
