Mina, the 17th of June, 2024. The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) reported pumping more than three billion liters of fresh water into Makkah and the holy sites on the days of Tarwiah and Arafat, as well as on the first day of Eid al-Adha. This achievement is part of the SWA's operational mission to ensure pilgrims' comfort and well-being throughout the hajj season that is currently taking place, which is 1445 AH. The operating system of the SWA was able to accomplish this feat as a result of collaborative efforts, meticulous planning, and thorough preparation.
In order to increase water production capacity to record levels, the Saline Water Conversion Corporation, which is the transitional operational arm of the Saudi Water Authority (SWA), collaborated with the Saudi Water Partnership Company and its partners from the private sector. Additionally, the Water Transmission and Technologies Company enabled the National Water Company to receive the produced water, thereby completing the system's integrated efforts. The system accomplished this achievement by distributing and pumping the specified volumes of water to Makkah and the holy places.
