SWSDF President highlights UIM E1 World Championship aligns with Saudi Vision 2030

Jeddah, Feb 2, 2024, Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Salman, the President of the Saudi Water Sports & Diving Federation (SWSDF), underscored the significance of hosting the inaugural round of the UIM E1 World Championship in the Kingdom. This groundbreaking all-electric race-boat competition aligns with the goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, emphasizing environmental and energy sustainability, as well as the leadership's aspirations for renewable energy and all-electric transportation.

Prince Sultan made these remarks during a news conference held on Thursday to preview the first round of the UIM E1 World Championship, set to commence in Jeddah on Friday.

Highlighting a noteworthy aspect of the championship, Prince Sultan noted that it stands out as the first major international sports competition where men and women are launching their participation simultaneously. He expressed his satisfaction with SWSDF's pivotal role as a key partner in the UIM E1 World Championship.

Furthermore, Prince Sultan conveyed that the Saudi team's involvement in the competition is a result of a strategic partnership with Aoki Racing, aiming to demonstrate the capability of Saudi youth to actively engage in significant international tournaments. This participation reinforces Saudi Arabia's commitment to promoting sustainability, gender equality in sports, and showcasing the prowess of its youth on the global stage.
