Riyadh, January 23, 2024, The National Energy Services Company (Tarshid) has officially announced the renewal of its partnership and sponsorship of the Diriyah E-Prix for the third consecutive year, just ahead of the 2024 Diriyah E-Prix set to take place this weekend, according to a press release from Tarshid.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, this ongoing partnership aims to champion sustainable technology, showcasing Tarshid's dedication to a sustainable future that aligns with the objectives of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, recognized as the world's premier fully electric-powered car racing series.
The collaboration with the Ministry of Sports intends to advocate for sustainability and champion optimal energy efficiency within the sports sector, concurrently fostering innovation in this domain. Tarshid's CEO, Waled Al-Ghreri, highlighted the company's unwavering commitment to energy efficiency, emphasizing its role in serving the Kingdom's strategic sustainability goals, supporting the flourishing energy efficiency industry, and achieving significant energy savings. Tarshid plays a pivotal role in developing, managing, and financing energy efficiency projects across various sectors in the Kingdom, aiming to lead the energy efficiency industry and contribute to building a sustainable future. The company has achieved notable milestones, such as replacing over 4.2 million lighting lamps nationwide by the end of 2023 and enhancing energy efficiency in more than 22,000 government buildings. These efforts are estimated to result in an annual reduction of over 6,000 GWh, equivalent to avoiding the consumption of more than 10.9 million barrels of oil and preventing over 3.9 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually, corresponding to the environmental impact of planting more than 64.6 million seedlings each year.
