Riyadh, March 03, 2025 – The Saudi Stock Exchange's main index, TASI, experienced a decline today, closing 76.45 points lower at 12,035.45 points. The market saw a total trading volume of SAR 3.4 billion, reflecting a significant level of activity, but investor sentiment appeared cautious as 209 companies closed in the red, outweighing the 37 companies that recorded gains. The total volume of shares traded on the exchange reached 201 million, indicating a wide participation across various sectors.

Despite the downward movement in the main index, the Saudi Parallel Market Index (NOMU) performed more positively. NOMU closed up by 177.88 points, settling at 31,582.35 points, signaling a strong performance in this segment of the market. This positive momentum was accompanied by a trading value of SAR 29 million, with more than two million shares exchanged, suggesting a healthy interest in the alternative market, often driven by smaller or emerging companies.

The fluctuations in both TASI and NOMU reflect a mixed trading environment, with investors appearing to balance risk across different market segments. While the main index saw some retreat, the growth in NOMU offers a glimmer of optimism, particularly for those focusing on high-potential, smaller-cap stocks.

Market analysts suggest that the diverse performance of both indices indicates ongoing investor caution, with the broader market sentiment impacted by various economic factors. The performance of the stock exchange remains closely watched, with traders and investors anticipating more clarity on both domestic and global economic trends in the coming weeks.

As the market continues to evolve, these dynamics underscore the critical role of both the main and parallel markets in offering diverse opportunities for investment, while also highlighting the need for investors to remain vigilant and informed about market conditions.
