March 27, 2025 - There’s always something happening at Tesla. Whether it’s the CEO running America’s DOGE department or the latest autonomous driving footage, the company constantly makes headlines.
Recent Recall News
In this case, Tesla is recalling 46,096 Cybertrucks due to a stainless-steel body panel that could potentially detach. Yes, you read that right.
Recall Details
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has discovered that the adhesive used to secure the cant rail panels may become brittle over time, causing them to loosen or detach from the truck.
Tesla has reported 151 warranty claims related to this problem but assured that there have been no accidents or injuries linked to the defect. This marks the eighth recall for the Cybertruck since its launch.
Tesla’s Response and Repair Plan
To address the issue, Tesla has updated its manufacturing process, using a more durable adhesive and adding extra reinforcements for the cant rail panels. For Cybertrucks already on the road, Tesla will offer free repairs to replace or secure the affected panels.
The recall affects Cybertrucks built between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025. Fortunately, owners will be able to notice any potential panel issues, as the cant rail will either visibly loosen or make noise before detaching—so there’s a heads-up before a panel flies off.
