Riyadh, March 31, 2025 – Acting President of the Transport General Authority (TGA), Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, announced the successful execution of operational plans for the Ramadan season 1446 AH.

The plans achieved exceptional performance indicators across public transportation, the Haramain High-Speed Railway, ride-hailing services, delivery operations, and postal shipments, demonstrating the sector’s readiness and effective coordination among all relevant entities.

“During Ramadan, we provided integrated transport services that met the increased demand, achieving record figures that highlight the sector’s preparedness and operational efficiency. We prioritized collaboration with public and private sector partners to ensure smooth mobility and diverse transport options, enhancing the overall experience for beneficiaries,” Al-Rumaih stated.

He noted that the Haramain High-Speed Railway transported over 1.2 million passengers during the holy month, reflecting a 21% increase from the previous year and reaffirming its reliability as a key transport link between Makkah and Madinah.

Public transport buses within cities carried more than 10 million passengers, with Makkah and Madinah accounting for 34% of this total, underscoring the service’s significance during peak seasons in the holy sites.

The ride-hailing sector recorded over 7.8 million trips, an 81% surge compared to last Ramadan, while car rental contracts exceeded 400,000, marking a 26% increase.

In the logistics sector, more than 20 million delivery orders were completed via apps, with Makkah and Madinah representing 32.8% of the total.

Additionally, over 26 million shipments and postal parcels were delivered through 72 licensed companies, reflecting an 18% growth from the previous year.

He emphasized that the TGA remains committed to its regulatory and supervisory role to enhance service quality and operational efficiency, aligning with national transport and logistics strategic objectives.

Al-Rumaih also highlighted that these efforts contribute to improving the experience of Umrah performers and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques, praising the collaboration between government entities and private sector partners in ensuring the success of this year’s Ramadan season.
