Bangkok, January 25, 2025 – Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance of Saudi Arabia, met with Thailand's Minister of Culture, Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, during his official visit to Bangkok. This meeting took place as part of his leadership of the Saudi delegation at the third ASEAN "Khair Ummah" conference, an important event organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance. The conference, which is being held with the aim of strengthening ties within the Islamic world, highlights Saudi Arabia's leadership in advocating for peace, compassion, and coexistence among nations.

During the meeting, Al Alsheikh emphasized the strong and longstanding relationship between Saudi Arabia and Thailand, particularly in the realms of cultural cooperation and Islamic affairs. He underscored the key objectives of the "Khair Ummah" conference, which seeks to promote unity and collaboration among Muslim-majority nations, while also highlighting the role of Islam as a religion that advocates peace, compassion, and mutual understanding.

The Thai Minister of Culture, Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, took the opportunity to commend Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of pilgrims and Umrah performers from Thailand. She acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s dedication to providing seamless and convenient journeys for Thai pilgrims, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to serving the needs of Muslims worldwide. This partnership, she noted, continues to strengthen the cultural and religious ties between the two nations.

The meeting further solidified the importance of collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Thailand, not only on religious matters but also in fostering broader cultural exchange and mutual respect.
