Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – February 17, 2025 – On Sunday, Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), welcomed a high-level delegation from Thailand at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah. The Thai delegation, which included senior officials from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC), and the National Security Council, engaged in constructive discussions with Taha on various matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Secretary General Taha expressed his appreciation for the ongoing and fruitful collaboration between the OIC and Thailand, underscoring the importance of strengthening ties and deepening cooperation in areas of common concern. The OIC has consistently worked to foster positive relations with countries outside the organization, and Thailand has been an essential partner in this regard, especially in matters related to regional stability and the welfare of Muslim communities.

Taha also provided the Thai delegation with an overview of the OIC's core objectives and priorities. He emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting minorities and Muslim communities in non-OIC member states, particularly in regions where they face social, political, or economic challenges. The discussion also highlighted the OIC’s ongoing efforts to promote peace, security, and sustainable development for Muslim populations worldwide, as well as its advocacy for human rights and humanitarian assistance.

The meeting served as an important platform to reinforce the OIC’s dedication to fostering global solidarity among Muslim communities, regardless of national borders. Taha reiterated the OIC's willingness to continue working closely with Thailand, aiming to build on existing partnerships and explore new avenues for collaboration that will contribute to stability, peace, and the well-being of Muslim communities in Thailand and beyond.

Through such engagements, the OIC continues to strengthen its role as a leading international organization that seeks to enhance the voice of Muslim communities globally, while promoting cooperation and dialogue with non-member states to address shared challenges and opportunities.
