The 9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit promises global significance and prominence

Riyadh, October 12, 2023, The upcoming 9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit (P20) is set to be a significant event with prominent figures in attendance. Leading the Kingdom's delegation will be the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh. This momentous gathering, taking place from October 13 to 14 in New Delhi, will be co-hosted by the Indian Parliament and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and it will revolve around the theme "Parliaments for One Earth, One Family, One Future."


Notably, the Saudi delegation received an invitation to participate in this prestigious summit from the esteemed Speaker of the Indian Parliament, Om Birla, along with the Vice-President of India and ex-officio Chairman of the Council of States, Jagdeep Dhankhar. This gesture underscores the importance and global reach of the event.


The P20 summit has identified several key areas of focus that promise to impact people's lives positively. These include harnessing the potential of public digital platforms, empowering women in driving development, expediting progress towards sustainable development goals, and facilitating the transition to sustainable energy sources.


Within the Saudi delegation, the presence of Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, as well as esteemed members of the Shura Council such as Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Muhanna, Dr. Khalid Al-Muhaisen, Dr. Reema Al-Yahya, Osama Al-Khayari, and Dr. Haifa Al-Shammari, further highlights the commitment of Saudi Arabia to engaging in these crucial discussions on a global platform. Their participation in the P20 summit signifies the nation's dedication to the principles of international cooperation and the pursuit of sustainable solutions to the world's pressing challenges.
