Cairo, April 17, 2024, On Wednesday, the Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament convened to address ongoing Israeli violations targeting Palestinian natural resources and marine areas, particularly in the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Led by the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi, the meeting delved into the latest developments within Palestinian territories. The discussions shed light on the systematic efforts by Israel to undermine the Palestinian cause.
The committee underscored the urgent need for the international community to adopt a unified stance against the relentless Israeli attacks in Gaza, highlighting the concerning silence surrounding these atrocities. Additionally, the committee raised alarm about the humanitarian crisis unfolding, including the looming threats of famine and the potential collapse of Gaza's healthcare system.
Expressing firm rejection, the committee denounced any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian state, emphasizing the illegality of such actions under international law. A draft resolution addressing the situation in Palestine was approved during the meeting, set to be presented in the upcoming session of the Arab Parliament scheduled for Saturday.
