Riyadh, October 12, 2023, Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), and Andreas Hensel, the director of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), had a meeting today. The two representatives talked about the activities and responsibilities of each agency as well as a collaborative action plan between the SFDA and the German institute during the meeting. Additionally, the SFDA delegation met with Friedel Cramer, director of the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL).
The two parties talked about their respective regulatory responsibilities as well as risk-management initiatives involving product recall requirements, e-commerce, and product follow-up.
