RIYADH April 2, 2025 — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a public advisory urging citizens and residents to be cautious around swimming pools at homes and public locations, especially to prevent accidents involving children and non-swimmers.

In its statement, the directorate emphasized the importance of adhering to safety instructions and official guidelines provided through media and social platforms to protect lives and avoid incidents during the warmer months.

Authorities highlighted the need to keep children away from pools unless under constant supervision and recommended installing safety measures such as fences to prevent unauthorized access.

The Civil Defense also stressed the necessity of having life-saving equipment like life rings and non-slip surfaces around pool edges to reduce the risk of slipping and drowning.

Additional precautions advised include placing ladders in pool corners for safe entry and exit, and installing alarm systems to detect any unexpected falls into the water.

The directorate reaffirmed that public safety is a collective responsibility and urged pool owners and operators to implement essential safety measures to prevent tragic accidents.
