Riyadh, October 31, 2023, The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission is set to host the International Translation Forum 2023, centered around the theme "Fostering Cross-Cultural Exchange." This significant event aims to underscore the global importance of cultural communication through the exchange of cultural content, emphasizing the pivotal role of translation in bridging cultures and civilizations.
In its third iteration, this two-day forum, taking place at King Saud University, will feature ten panel sessions delving into critical translation issues and nine workshops geared toward enhancing the skills and capabilities of translation practitioners. The event will also offer a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with both local and international translation experts during the "Talk with Experts" session.
Furthermore, the forum will facilitate hands-on experiences in editorial translation, interpretation, and audiovisual translation, guided by seasoned experts in the field. An accompanying exhibition will showcase prominent local and international institutions specializing in translation.
The overarching goal of this forum is to shed light on the present and future of the translation profession, bolster the translation sector within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, foster a competitive environment, foster stronger connections within the translation community, and promote awareness regarding the critical role of translation in promoting social, cultural, and linguistic interaction among diverse populations and communities.
