RIYADH, April 2, 2025: The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Djibouti to Saudi Arabia, Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, commended Saudi Arabia for its exceptional hosting of the Umrah season, highlighting the extensive arrangements and assistance provided to worshipers in the holy cities.


Bamakhrama shared with Arab News: “I extend my congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the success of the Umrah season during Ramadan and the remarkable number of visits to the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.”


“Over 122 million pilgrims, visitors, and worshipers visited the Two Holy Mosques during Ramadan. All performed their rituals with devotion and peace, surrounded by cleanliness and security. The movement of the crowds was organized efficiently and safely,” the ambassador stated.


He emphasized, “None of this would have been possible without the mercy of Allah, and the commitment of the Saudi government in serving the Two Holy Mosques and the sacred lands in the best possible way.”


Bamakhrama prayed for continued success in these efforts, offering blessings for all those who contributed to making this Umrah season a success.


A total of 122,286,712 people visited the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during Ramadan, according to Ghazi Al-Shahrani, CEO of the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.


Al-Shahrani reported that 16,558,241 performed Umrah, while worshipers numbered 75,573,928 at the Grand Mosque and 30,154,543 at the Prophet’s Mosque.


He also expressed his gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support of the Umrah season and extended heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. Al-Shahrani further thanked everyone involved in serving the guests of Allah, praying for their efforts to be rewarded.
