On May 23, 2024, in Tehran, Prince Dr. Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, with Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, conveyed to Iran the condolences and sympathy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, over the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and members of his entourage. They pleaded with Allah, the Almighty, to have mercy on the souls of the deceased.
Princes Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz and Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received condolences from Iranian President Mohammad Jamshidi, Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs, and Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani at a banquet held at the Conventions Palace in Tehran.
The Saudi Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anzi, was present at the reception.
