
Jakarta, March 4, 2025 – In a significant humanitarian gesture, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has officially launched the "Etaam" Ramadan Food Basket Distribution Project in Indonesia for the year 1446 AH. The inauguration ceremony, held on Sunday, took place at the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) headquarters in Jakarta, with prominent figures in attendance, including the Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amoudi, along with various officials and representatives from both countries.
The "Etaam" initiative is set to distribute an impressive 7,911 food baskets, each weighing 32 kilograms, which will be provided to individuals and families in need across four regions in Indonesia. Each basket contains a carefully curated selection of essential food items, aimed at easing the challenges faced by local communities during the holy month of Ramadan. In total, the initiative will directly benefit approximately 47,466 individuals, ensuring they have access to nutritious food throughout the fasting period.
The food aid distribution is part of a broader, multi-phase international effort coordinated by KSrelief. This is the fourth phase of the "Etaam" project, which aims to extend its reach across 27 countries during the blessed month of Ramadan. In total, the project will see the distribution of 390,109 food baskets, benefiting an estimated 2,304,104 individuals. The total cost of the project across all phases exceeds a remarkable SAR 67.064 million.
