Abu Ajram, May 23, 2024. 1,348 pilgrims belonging to the Republic of Iraq were transported in a convoy reaching Pilgrims City at Abu Ajram Centre as the first batch of the pilgrims. This was attended under the supervision of Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, the governor of the province of Al-Jawf and the general supervisor of the Hajj works.
The city is an important center in which pilgrims go on their pilgrimage from Iraq via the border crossing at Jadidat Arar on the Hajj route. It is also the first port of call for pilgrims entering from the Levant through the Qurayyat Governorate's Haditha crossing.
Badr bin Eid Al-Shammari, the chairman of the board of directors of the group for Pilgrims and Umrah Services in the Al-Jawf region, clarified that the group provided pilgrims with a range of services. This can be attributed to Pilgrims City's capacity to host up to 3,000 pilgrims each day and its extensive array of services. He declared that guaranteeing pilgrims' total comfort is the goal of all pertinent agencies.
