The first group of Burkinabe pilgrims departing for the holy places of this year's Hajj was bid farewell by Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Burkina Faso, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Dosari, on May 23, 2024, in Ouagadougou. The Thomas Sankara International Airport in Ouagadougou served as the venue for the event.
A number of government representatives and embassy employees were present at the farewell event.
