The Governor of Jeddah Honors the 'DRIFT 25' International Equestrian Show Winners

Jeddah, February 2, 2025 – In a stunning showcase of equestrian talent, the “DRIFT 25” International Equestrian Show concluded yesterday with a star-studded awards ceremony at the Trio Sporting Club in Jeddah. The event, which saw fierce competition from over 150 male and female riders representing 18 countries, was held under the esteemed patronage of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation (SAEF).


The prestigious awards ceremony, which marked the grand finale of the competition, was conducted on behalf of Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, by the Governor of Jeddah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi. The occasion saw Prince Saud presenting trophies to the victors of this exhilarating event.


The highlight of the DRIFT 25 Grand Prix was the victory of Iraqi rider Zaid Al-Nujaifi, who triumphed in a thrilling competition to take first place. Saudi rider Saad Alajmi claimed a well-deserved second spot, while riders from Norway, Italy, and Slovakia rounded out the top finishers. The competition, which featured 54 intense rounds of jumping, showcased some of the best equestrian skills from around the world.


At the close of the competition, the Governor of Jeddah took the opportunity to honor and recognize the event's sponsors, including Saudia Cargo, whose support was instrumental in the success of the championship.


As a key event in Jeddah’s Calendar, DRIFT 25 brought together some of the finest equestrian athletes from both Saudi Arabia and across the globe, contributing to the growing prominence of the kingdom as a leading hub for international sports events. In addition to the thrilling equestrian competition, DRIFT 25 also featured a range of recreational activities, adding to the vibrancy of the event and offering something for attendees of all ages.


This year’s DRIFT 25 was a testament to the Kingdom’s commitment to nurturing equestrian excellence and fostering global sports exchanges, further solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for world-class sporting events.
