Makkah, June 11, 2024. The Jurisprudence of Concessions and its Impact on Facilitating the Hajj Ritual." was the topic of discussion during the second main session of the 48th Grand Hajj Symposium. Sheikh Dr. Jibril bin Muhammad Al-Busaili, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars, presided over the meeting. Participants included Sheikh Muhammad Anwar Iskandar, who is the General President of the Indonesian Ulema Council; Sheikh Asghar Ali, who is the Emir of the All-India Central Ahl al-Hadith Association; Dr. Sami Al-Suqair, who is also a member of the Council of Senior Scholars; and Dr. Yusuf bin Saeed.

This session primarily focused on the concept of concessions, also known as "facilitation." Concessions can take a variety of forms around the world. These include matters pertaining to Ihram, such as the possibility of entering Ihram prior to reaching the Miqat in the event that one is afraid of missing the opportunity to do so. Further, there are exemptions with regard to Tawaf and Saee, such as the possibility of combining the stoning (Jamarat) ritual on a single day during the final days of Tashreeq for persons who are unable to visit the Jamarat on a daily basis.

There are also accommodations for Saee. You can assign someone else to do the stoning on their behalf, or you can condense the three days' worth of work into one. Just before the Grand Hajj Symposium came to an end, Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Saqr, the Digital Experience Advisor at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, gave a talk. The two holy mosques and the envisioned future technologies were the main topics of discussion. During this ceremony, the symposium's partners were also recognized.
