"Makkah, June 11, 2024." On Monday, Salman bin Youssef Al-Dossary, the Minister of Media, unveiled the initial version of the "Hajj Media Hub" idea. This event is being organized in Makkah from June 10 to June 16 by the Pilgrim Experience Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The Year of Media Transformation was announced three months ago by the media minister during the third "Saudi Media Forum."One of the projects that will be introduced during the Year of Media Transformation is the Hub.
In order to fulfill its mission of offering an integrated media environment, the Hajj Media Hub seeks to support media professionals in completing their coverage of the 1445 AH Hajj season.
The center anticipates that more than 1,500 local and foreign media professionals will make use of its services, together with over 150 local, Arab, Islamic, and international media outlets. Eleven supportive media areas, an interactive media exhibition showcasing pilgrim services, a news conference headquarters, an integrated media center, multiple studios, vehicles for direct injection of media materials, and the Virtual Press Center (VPC), where a specialized team participates in presentations via an interactive screen, offering round-the-clock updates and services, are just a few of the ways the hub sets itself apart from other media centers.
The center gathers all the media agencies together during the Hajj season to assist the work of all media personalities and outlets and to supply them with the newest technologies to enable more creative media coverage on a local and global scale. The fact that this is happening in an environment full of interactive technologies indicates a significant change in the services offered to pilgrims. Together with upcoming projects for the holy sites, the hub also provides an account of the most noteworthy achievements and projects that have benefited the two holy mosques and their visitors.
