The Health Minister of the New Syrian Administration Meets with the KSrelief Team

Syrian Minister of Health Dr. Maher Al-Sharaa met with a team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Damascus to discuss support for Syria's healthcare sector.


Damascus, January 6, 2025 — Dr. Maher Al-Sharaa, the newly appointed Minister of Health for Syria, held a significant meeting in Damascus on Sunday with a team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief). The discussions centered on exploring effective ways to support and address the critical needs of Syria’s healthcare sector, which has been severely impacted by ongoing challenges. Both parties focused on collaborative efforts to enhance medical support, infrastructure, and resources for the healthcare system in Syria, which continues to grapple with the aftermath of years of conflict and humanitarian difficulties.


During the meeting, Minister Al-Sharaa expressed his sincere gratitude to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, for their unwavering support towards Syria and its people. The Syrian minister specifically acknowledged KSrelief’s continuous humanitarian efforts, which have provided vital aid and relief to those in need. The minister emphasized the critical importance of international partnerships in alleviating the hardships facing the Syrian population, particularly in the healthcare sector, where the demand for support remains immense.


KSrelief, a prominent humanitarian organization, has been instrumental in providing aid to Syria, including medical supplies, healthcare assistance, and various relief programs. Through this meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation and finding sustainable solutions to improve the healthcare infrastructure in Syria, aiming to mitigate the ongoing suffering and provide hope to those most in need.
