Jeddah, April 02, 2025 – The Diriyah Biennale Foundation launched its Eid Al-Fitr celebration program, titled "Eid at the Biennale," as part of the second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale, currently being held at the Western Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
The two-day celebration offers a variety of cultural, social, and entertainment activities for all age groups, inspired by the ambiance of traditional markets. The event includes designated photo opportunity areas, a zone with over ten different games, a collaborative coloring wall with child-safe paint, and a traditional henna area—a cultural ornament deeply embedded in Saudi festive customs, especially during holidays and celebrations.
The program also features a range of artistic workshops focusing on themes like light, shadow, and time; puppet-making (Aragoz dolls); Eid Maamoul preparation; dream scenes in ceramics; jewelry and ring-making; gouache painting; shadow art with Islamic motifs; architectural woodworking; and linoleum block printing. Additional workshops offer creative spaces for making Eid decorations and designing postcards that transform stamps into storytelling pieces.
This year's Islamic Arts Biennale, held under the theme "And All That Is In Between," showcases over 500 historical and contemporary artworks and objects that reflect the richness of Islamic art and culture across different periods. The biennale also includes an extensive cultural program with talks, artist and expert meet-ups, workshops, professional training courses, film screenings, culinary events, and weekly social activities.
