The Israeli Security Minister's storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque is condemned by the Arab Parliament.

The Arab Parliament condemned the Israeli security minister's storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling it a provocative act that insults the feelings of Muslims worldwide and highlights ongoing violations against Palestinian people and sacred sites in Jerusalem.

Cairo, January 1, 2025 – The Arab Parliament has issued a strong condemnation of the recent storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli Minister of National Security, describing the provocative act as deeply inflammatory and a direct affront to the feelings of millions of Muslims worldwide. In a statement released on Thursday, the Arab Parliament denounced the Israeli security minister’s actions as part of a broader, ongoing pattern of violations committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and the revered Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The Arab Parliament emphasized that this latest incident represents yet another breach in a continuous series of provocations designed to undermine the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other sacred sites in Jerusalem. The statement stressed that such actions are not only a violation of the historical and legal status of these sites but also a blatant disregard for international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. The Arab Parliament firmly rejected any attempts by the Israeli authorities to alter or undermine the status quo of these holy sites, affirming that such actions are completely invalid and serve only to exacerbate the already heightened tensions and instability in the region.

In its statement, the Arab Parliament called on the international community, and particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate and decisive action to end the ongoing violations and attacks by the Israeli occupation against sacred sites in Jerusalem. The Parliament reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Hashemite custodianship of Al-Aqsa Mosque and all Islamic holy sites in the occupied city, recognizing Jordan’s key role in maintaining the integrity and sanctity of these sites.

The condemnation comes at a time of rising tensions in Jerusalem, where the continued Israeli occupation and violations of international law have contributed to increased instability and unrest. The Arab Parliament’s call for global action highlights the urgent need for the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions and to ensure that the historical, legal, and religious significance of Jerusalem’s holy sites is preserved. As the situation in the region remains volatile, the Arab Parliament’s statement serves as a reminder of the critical importance of safeguarding the rights of Palestinians and protecting the sanctity of religious sites revered by millions of people worldwide.
