The Sports Boulevard Foundation has been awarded the prestigious King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism Award by the Architectural Design Commission.

The Sports Boulevard project aims to transform Riyadh's approach to urban development by incorporating local identity and Salmani architecture, covering a distance of 135 kilometers and including 4.4 million square meters of open and green space.

This award may be found in the Architectural Design Commission's collection. Through the successful implementation of the Sports Boulevard design code, the award recognizes the remarkable commitment that the project has shown to the principles and objectives of the charter.While attending the closing ceremony of the event, which took place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, Dr. Sumayah Al-Sulaiman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Architecture and Design Commission, presented the trophy to Jayne McGivern, the Chief Executive Officer of the Sports Boulevard Foundation.The award was given to the Sports Boulevard Foundation because it incorporated a unique design code and demonstrated a dedication to putting the code into practice. The code mixes authenticity and modernism while displaying fresh and unique urban outputs.By embracing the goals of the King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism, the prize intends to recognize and acknowledge projects that stand out as exceptional examples of their respective fields. Its purpose is to assist in achieving the charter's goals while simultaneously encouraging and motivating businesses, practitioners, and students to incorporate the charter's values into their work. This will result in a competitive environment that leads to higher levels of urban excellence.Jayne McGivern, the Chief Executive Officer of the Sports Boulevard Foundation, expressed her happiness at being awarded the medal and stressed the significance of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's vision in the field of urban development. McGivern also stated that the Sports Boulevard plan aims to transform Riyadh's approach to urban development. This project will cover a distance of 135 kilometers and will include approximately 4.4 million square meters of open and green space. Additionally, it will include up to fifty multidisciplinary sports facilities that will be linked to infrastructure.The Design Code was formed by the Sports Boulevard Foundation in 2022 for all structures that were located on Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Road. The Sports Boulevard Foundation created this code to underscore the significance of local identity and Salmani architecture, a symbol of authenticity and modernism in design. The code's goal is to create a modern and environmentally friendly environment that improves quality of life.One of the megaprojects in Riyadh, the Sports Boulevard, was presented to the public on March 19, 2019, by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is Sports Boulevard's chief executive officer. The project's goal is to improve the quality of life for both city residents and tourists by constructing integrated infrastructure, walkways for pedestrians and cyclists, trails for horseback riding, and other amenities.
