The project hastens the procedures of entry and increases the pilgrim experience with the help of state-of-the-art technology and a highly qualified workforce.

The Makkah Route Initiative, which is the best illustration of how well-synchronized government bodies can work when their efforts are attained at enhancement in working and transportation conditions for Hajj participants, has been initiated on May 29, 2024. The Makkah Route Initiative, as implemented by the Ministry of Interior, is very vital in fast-tracking procedures for entry into Saudi Arabia by the pilgrims. The initiative integrates the efforts of the Hajj and Umrah, Foreign Affairs, Health, and Media Ministries. This project is part of the Pilgrim Experience Program, which is related to Saudi Vision 2030.Apart from these ministries, it works with other Saudi government organizations like the Pilgrim Experience Program, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), and the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).The Ministry of Interior makes use of every resource at its disposal, including state-of-the-art machinery and a highly skilled labor force, in order to facilitate the entry processes for beneficiaries at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. The staff members at the project speak several languages to meet the diversified needs of the pilgrims. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a very crucial aspect in the facilitation of the visa application process and vital support of the pilgrims in the days prior to their arrival. The Ministry of Health has been dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of pilgrims in the meantime by providing medical care and conducting safety checks. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is responsible for guiding pilgrims and ensuring that everything is done in a systematic and effective manner. On top of these efforts, the ZATCA facilitates customs procedures, while the GACA takes charge of flight scheduling and logistical support to ensure that the pilgrims travel in safety. SDAIA is leveraging modern technology in efforts to enhance and speed up procedures that will eventually give consumers a better overall experience. By employing artificial intelligence (AI) and state-of-the-art technology, the Makkah Route Initiative is looking to complete all entry-related procedures before the pilgrim actually arrives, saving a lot of time and streamlining the procedure considerably. The initiative aims at enhancing pilgrims' comfort with facilities that are convenient and helpful. The approach furthers the directives of Vision 2030, which aims at the enhancement of Hajj services. Its success is evidenced by the fact that several government agencies and representatives all work together to meet the needs of pilgrims and make their Hajj an enjoyable and hassle-free experience.
