Riyadh, August 19, 2024 — As the new school year commences, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture is calling on students and their families to embrace environmentally friendly practices. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative and aims to foster a culture of environmental stewardship across the Kingdom.


Encouraging Positive Environmental Practices: The ministry is urging students to adopt environmentally conscious behaviors both at school and at home. Key recommendations include:


Water Conservation: Students are advised to use water judiciously, reducing waste and adopting practices that minimize water consumption.


Maintaining Greenery: Efforts to preserve and enhance green spaces, such as participating in gardening or tree-planting activities, are encouraged.


Proper Waste Disposal: Students should be mindful of waste segregation and disposal, ensuring that trash is properly sorted and disposed of to minimize environmental impact.



Family Involvement: Families are encouraged to play a pivotal role in educating their children about the importance of sustainability. The ministry suggests involving children in:


Community Clean-Up: Participating in local clean-up activities to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness.
