Riyadh, October 01, 2023, The Omani fine art exhibition at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2023, hosted at King Saud University, has a twofold purpose. It seeks to exhibit paintings that celebrate the Arab and Islamic Omani identity while also providing insights into the nature and environment of Oman.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sport, and Youth in Oman, represented by the Omani Society for Fine Art, this exhibition showcases the creations of leading Omani artists. Eleven artists are presenting a total of 16 paintings that prominently feature Arab and Islamic themes. The artworks encompass various forms, including fine art, Arabic calligraphy, Islamic decoration, and both watercolor and oil paintings.
As the honored guest at this year's fair, Oman aspires to offer a rich cultural experience, delving into its heritage, history, arts, and culture through a diverse range of artworks. The exhibition comprises an array of Arabic calligraphy styles that captivate with their beauty and intricate details, as well as gilded Islamic art pieces. Furthermore, some paintings vividly depict Oman's natural landscapes, showcasing the nation's diverse geographical terrain and captivating visitors with scenic portrayals.
