The Palestinian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Meets with the Minister of Islamic Affairs

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, met with Palestinian Ambassador Mazen Ghoneim to discuss initiatives supporting the Palestinian people, including the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation.

Riyadh, January 07, 2025 – Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Saudi Arabia, Mazen Ghoneim, for an important meeting held in Riyadh today. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to engage in discussions surrounding the ongoing cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Palestine, focusing on vital areas of mutual interest.


A primary subject of their discussion was the Kingdom's longstanding efforts to support the Palestinian people, with a particular emphasis on the initiatives led by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Notably, Sheikh Dr. Al Alsheikh highlighted the ministry's involvement in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation. This initiative, which annually accommodates thousands of pilgrims, includes special sponsorship for Palestinians, ensuring they receive the necessary support to perform their religious duties with dignity and ease.


Ambassador Mazen Ghoneim expressed deep gratitude to the Kingdom's government for its unwavering commitment to providing services to Muslims worldwide, particularly Palestinians. He acknowledged the invaluable role the ministry plays in assisting Palestinian families, specifically in offering opportunities for the families of martyrs to perform Hajj with comfort and peace of mind.
