Makkah, March 19, 2025 — The Presidency for Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has taken significant steps to enhance the Itikaf prayer experience at the Two Holy Mosques during the holy month of Ramadan. As part of its efforts to foster a spiritually enriching atmosphere for worshippers, the presidency has organized a series of scientific and guidance lessons, Quranic study circles, and the distribution of copies of the Holy Quran along with informative pamphlets to assist worshippers in their devotion.

Itikaf, a practice that begins on Thursday night, the 21st of Ramadan, involves dedicating oneself to worship in seclusion within the mosque, seeking closeness to Allah during the final days of the blessed month. This is a tradition followed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the presidency is committed to ensuring that the Itikaf experience is filled with spiritual enrichment, reflection, and an opportunity for increased devotion.

In line with the sacredness of the Two Holy Mosques, the Presidency for Religious Affairs has prioritized the creation of a conducive environment for worshippers to deeply engage in acts of worship. Efforts to prepare the prayer halls include the careful arrangement of spaces to ensure that the spiritual environment remains undistracted and focused on worship, helping the devotees to connect more deeply with the divine.

The initiative reflects the significance of Itikaf in the Islamic tradition, serving as an essential spiritual practice during Ramadan. The presidency’s attention to detail in providing religious and spiritual resources amplifies the meaning of this time of reflection, devotion, and connection with Allah, making it possible for worshippers to immerse themselves fully in their acts of worship. By offering these resources, the presidency ensures that the worshippers at the Two Holy Mosques can experience the full blessings of Ramadan in the holiest of places, reaffirming the deep spiritual connection that millions of Muslims feel during this sacred time.
