The President of the Saudi Water Authority Wraps Up His Official Visit to Singapore

A Saudi water system delegation, led by Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim, concluded a two-day visit to Singapore, focusing on enhancing international cooperation in water resource management.

Singapore, January 27, 2025 – A high-level delegation from the Saudi Water Authority, led by its President, Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim, concluded a two-day official visit to the Republic of Singapore. The visit, which brought together key figures from Saudi Arabia’s water sector, was aimed at strengthening international collaboration in water resource management, with a particular focus on enhancing water security and sustainability.


As part of the official program, the delegation participated in the Saudi-Singapore Water Forum, a key platform for dialogue between the two nations on pressing water-related issues. The forum facilitated discussions on best practices, technological innovations, and solutions for effective water management, further solidifying the partnership between Saudi Arabia and Singapore in this vital sector.


In addition to the forum, Eng. Al-Abdulkarim and his team visited several specialized companies, gaining valuable insights into Singapore's advanced water infrastructure and technologies. These visits provided opportunities for knowledge exchange and the exploration of potential areas of collaboration in the development of sustainable water solutions.


Throughout the visit, Eng. Al-Abdulkarim held a series of high-level meetings with Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, Amy Khor, and the CEO of the Singapore National Water Agency, Ong Tze-Ch'in. The discussions centered on a range of shared interests, including the efficient management of water resources, the enhancement of water security, and the importance of ensuring the long-term sustainability of water supplies in both countries.


This visit underscores Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to enhancing water security and sustainability, both domestically and internationally. By fostering cooperation with Singapore, a global leader in water management, Saudi Arabia is reinforcing its efforts to address the challenges of water scarcity and to develop innovative solutions that will ensure the sustainable use of water resources for future generations.
