Riyadh, August 18, 2024 – The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has announced a public consultation to gather feedback on proposed standard contractual terms for transferring personal data. This consultation is available through the Istitlaa platform, managed by the National Competitiveness Center, and will remain open until August 30, 2024.
The initiative aims to develop standardized rules for contracts and agreements that involve the transfer of personal data from Saudi Arabia to countries or international organizations that do not meet the Kingdom’s data protection standards. By establishing these standard contractual terms, SDAIA seeks to ensure that personal data transferred abroad receives a level of protection comparable to that required by the Personal Data Protection Law and its Implementing Regulations.
The feedback gathered will help refine these terms and ensure they provide robust protection for personal data in compliance with Saudi Arabia's regulatory framework. This step is part of SDAIA’s broader commitment to upholding data privacy and security on an international scale.
Stakeholders and the public are encouraged to participate in the consultation by accessing the survey through the following link: [Istitlaa Survey](https://istitlaa.ncc.gov.sa/ar/Transportation/NDMO/SCC/Pages/default.aspx#).
