Madinah, November 22, 2023, Nestled within the sacred confines of the Prophet's Mosque lies a treasure trove of knowledge and spirituality—the Prophet's Mosque Library. Established in 1352 AH, this esteemed institution has become a beacon of learning, attracting a staggering 110,000 visitors annually. Boasting a diverse collection that spans ancient manuscripts to contemporary digital resources, the library serves as a hub for seekers of wisdom and guidance.


Manuscripts Department:

At the heart of this bibliophilic haven is the Manuscripts Department, home to 4,052 manuscripts of historical significance. Alongside these, the library proudly houses 4,600 illustrated manuscripts and an extensive digital archive of more than 260,000 manuscripts. This department also meticulously preserves 200 printed copies of the Holy Quran and safeguards 7,000 rare books through state-of-the-art restoration and sterilization techniques, employing five cutting-edge devices.


Diverse Offerings for Visitors:

The library extends its services to visitors throughout the year, allowing them to immerse themselves in its diverse offerings. The Reading Department, equipped with dedicated spaces for men, women, and children, provides a tranquil environment for contemplation and study. Additionally, the Audio Library Department diligently records and preserves the sermons, lessons, and prayers delivered within the Prophet's Mosque.


Specialized Departments:

A testament to its commitment to preservation, the library houses specialized departments such as the Technical Department, focusing on the binding, restoration, and sterilization of books and manuscripts. The Rare Books Department stands out as a repository of antiquity, safeguarding and meticulously documenting the printing dates of its valuable collection.


Digital Library:

Embracing modernity, the library incorporates a Digital Library that plays a pivotal role in connecting visitors with knowledge. Equipped with computers, this section allows patrons to explore and access a vast array of literary resources, enhancing the overall experience for those seeking information.
