Riyadh, October 01, 2023, The Riyadh International Book Fair 2023 reflects the strong demand for manga, capturing the hearts of the younger generation and evoking nostalgic memories. Originating from Japan, the term "manga" now encompasses cartoons, comics, and animation.
Representing the Manga Alarabia pavilion at the book fair, Abdullah Al-Faisal shared that Arabic manga is curated by the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), specializing in the realm of comic books. They procure content rights from Japan, translating it into Arabic, and also produce original Arabic content created by Arab writers and artists based in Riyadh.
Manga Alarabia primarily caters to individuals aged 10 and above, offering a diverse range of complimentary Manga Alarabia editions at their pavilion within the Riyadh International Book Fair 2023.
Al-Faisal further highlighted that their pavilion provides visitors with the opportunity to have their names written in Japanese, a dedicated photography corner for children to capture moments with their beloved manga characters, and an engaging coloring area.
