March 31, 2025 – The Saudi Royal Court announced that Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Sunday, March 30, 2025, after the crescent moon was sighted at Sudair and Tamir observatories in the Kingdom.

The UAE and Qatar also confirmed Sunday as the first day of Eid al-Fitr, signaling the end of Ramadan.

However, Oman and Iran announced that Eid al-Fitr will begin on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Sighting committees in Saudi Arabia began the process of observing the crescent moon at sunset.

Chief astronomer Abdullah al-Khudairi from Sudair Observatory mentioned that the sunset at Sudair was at 6:12 pm (Saudi time), with the crescent moon setting 8 minutes later.

Eid al-Fitr timing is based on the sighting of the crescent moon, following the Islamic lunar calendar.
