"Makkah, June 22, 2024." Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, who serves as the President of the Religious Affairs of both the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, has expressed his gratitude to the royal family for their decision to reduce the length of the Friday prayer sermon at the Two Holy Mosques to around fifteen minutes. Additionally, the directive asks for a ten-minute delay between the first and second calls to prayer. Today's sermon, which took place at 12:45 AH on Friday, marked the beginning of this shift, which will continue until the conclusion of the summer season. Dr. Al-Sudais emphasized that this decision reflects the genuine concern for the pilgrims' well-being, comfort, and safety that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince have for them. The purpose of this adjustment, he stated, is to alleviate any discomfort that high temperatures may cause, while also making it easier for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques to perform their rituals. Dr. Al-Sudais continued by saying that this directive is evidence of the government's dedication to making it simpler for pilgrims and visitors to perform rituals. This is especially important when considering the large number of people who visit the Grand Mosque, which includes the elderly and the weak, as well as the difficult weather conditions. He praised the Kingdom's commitment to safeguarding people from harm and preserving mankind
