Cairo, March 5, 2025 – On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah led the Saudi delegation at the Extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo, Egypt. This important summit brought together Arab leaders to address pressing regional issues, with a particular focus on the ongoing crisis in Palestine and efforts to ensure stability in the Middle East.

In his opening remarks, Prince Faisal conveyed the warm greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as their sincere wishes for the success of the summit’s proceedings. He expressed his gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government for their efforts in fostering regional coordination and consultation, emphasizing Egypt’s pivotal role in facilitating dialogue and cooperation among Arab nations. Additionally, he extended his thanks to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain for his leadership during the current presidency of the Arab League Council.

Prince Faisal's address highlighted Saudi Arabia's unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue. He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of any actions that undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly through Israeli settlement policies, the annexation of Palestinian territories, and any efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands. He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The foreign minister also addressed the unprecedented suffering experienced by the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, which continues to endure immense humanitarian crises. He called for international unity to address the dire situation, emphasizing the need to restore normal life in Gaza, facilitate its reconstruction, and ensure that the Palestinian people are able to live with dignity on their land. Prince Faisal highlighted the necessity for international guarantees and the implementation of UN resolutions to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire in Gaza, prevent further acts of aggression, and ultimately achieve security and stability in Gaza and throughout Palestinian territories.

In his remarks, Prince Faisal also stressed the critical importance of supporting the Palestinian National Authority in carrying out its duties, including managing the Gaza Strip and providing vital humanitarian services to its residents. He underscored the Kingdom's hope that the summit would result in tangible outcomes to address the catastrophic consequences of the ongoing war, protect innocent civilians, and pave the way for a future where the region can experience lasting peace, security, and prosperity.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation at the summit included prominent officials such as the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji; Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al Farhan; Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Saleh Al-Husseini; the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Matar; and the Assistant Director-General of the Minister’s Office, Waleed Al-Ismail. The delegation’s presence at the summit underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to playing an active and supportive role in addressing regional challenges and advancing the cause of peace and stability in the Middle East.

The summit, a critical moment for Arab leaders to discuss regional priorities, demonstrated the Kingdom's continued dedication to supporting the Palestinian cause and its broader efforts to promote security and stability across the Arab world. Saudi Arabia’s leadership at the event further reinforced its pivotal role in advancing collective Arab positions on key geopolitical issues.
