Riyadh, April 5, 2025 – The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) recorded a 4.0 magnitude earthquake at dawn today in the Arabian Gulf, located 55 kilometers east of Jubail, using the national seismic monitoring network.

SGS spokesperson Tariq bin Ali Aba Al-Khail explained that the tremor was caused by stress along ancient faults in the Arabian Gulf region, resulting from the collision of the Arabian Plate with the Eurasian Plate.

He reassured that the earthquake is considered minor, and the Saudi borders remain unaffected, ensuring that the situation is safe.
